Coming off a 4-6 day, winning with Butler, West Virginia, St.Louis and Providence but losing on Seton Hall, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Texas, Indiana and California. Started off well, but went against my own principles by adding conference road favorites Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Texas, all outright losers. This oldman should know better. My sincere apologizes to those who may have followed me. I really like Sunday's card and therefore am taking what appear to be soft lines to me now. I may even bump one of these to a 3* strong play tomorrow prior to tip-off. I have to sleep on that decision. Once again, my sincere apologizes. Hopefully, we bounce back tomorrow with a nice day with the following plays. There will be no additions.

3* Pittsburgh -1
1* Cincinnati +4
1* Maryland +7.5
1* North Carolina State +4.5

Overall Unit Record YTD: (108-88.1) 55.07% 5*(1-0)(+5.0) 3*(8-4)(+10.8) 1*(79-68)(+4.1)
Overall W/L Record YTD: (88-72-3) 55.00%
NCAAB Record YTD: (42-48-1)(-11.0)
NBA Record YTD: (11-4-1)(+8.6)
NCAAF Record YTD: (21-8)(+22.0) (Final Bowl Game Record 19-8 Included)
NFL Record YTD: (14-12-1)(+0.3)

Plays are rated 1*-5*

Good Luck All.

It's amazing how big homecourt really is in College Hoops. I really like your Pitt play tomorrow.

That is the game that I'm looking to make the 3* play. I have been waiting for this game since watching the first game between these two teams. I just have to think it completely through before making it a 3* play, which is a strong play for me. Good luck to you as well.

Good luck both with Pitt as well as all the NHL home teams -1.5 goals as well Dale Earnhardt in the Daytona. I'll keep an eye out for the results or check in once in awhile on the tube to see how he is doing. You can see my plays already and I might add the NBA All Star game Over 252.5. Plus, I'll need to decide whether or not to bump Pitt up to a 3* play. Just missed hitting a 3 team parlay with Kansas State, South Carolina, and Mississippi State.Texas Tech covered by 1 point. Been that kind of day. Not bad, but could have been a lot better. Talk to you tomorrow. Got to watch my alma mater play Stanford. Go Bears!

Ted & SSI - Hope you guys are correct with Pitt. It is amazing how much respect UConn gets in their lines. They were double digit home favorites against Pitt & barely survived and now the game is a PK @ Pitt who owns the NCAA's longest home winning streak and has yet to lose at the Petersen Center. Pitt has the big men to contain Okafor, obviously a very important factor. Should be a great game.

You saw the first game the same way I did. Pitt is a smart, patient, well coached team that pounds the glass and is disciplined in their offense and plays tough, hard nosed defense. Duly respect UConn, but this is one of those games where a very good team has been waiting for their opportunity to play this rival on their home court. With the talent being nearly equal, the home court should make the difference here. Agreed, should be a great game.

See that the line continues to move on Pitt today as it was -1 earlier this morning and now is at -1.5 or -2 at most outs. I fully expect this game to be a hard intensely fought battle and no run away by the Panthers with the game being decided by 4 to 6 points. Like the Panthers in this situation as they have won 33 straight at home with 17 coming this year. They match up well physically with the Huskies and play smart and pass well offensively and pound the glass. Free throws are suspect as is the case with the Huskies. They play tenacious defense and expect them to protect against the 3 pointers from Gordon. Expect Okafor to score, rebound, and block shots as he always does, but Panthers selective passing should find ways to get inside hoops. The tempo of this game should be controlled by the Panthers as they are a patient team looking for a good shot. Don't expect the Huskies to get out and run alot here. Believe this will be a half court game for the most part with break aways occuring occasionally. Emotional edge is huge for the Panthers as they seek to beat their rival at home after losing a tough game by 3 earlier in the year on the road. A win here possibly gives the Panthers the inside track at a shot at a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament if they can duplicate with a win in the Big East tournament. This is a strong play for me but we have lost some line value. If you decide to play the Panthers, do not, and I repeat, do not go overboard. Treat it as a solid play and try to get -1 if you can. With all that being said, I have decided to bump up this play to a 3* play today as I added earlier this morning at -1. I will edit my original thread to reflect the change. Good luck to everyone today.

ted,

r u still thinking over in the NBA ALL STAR game, currently sitting @ 254.5?

My philosophy was to wait for as long as possible...let the public drive the number up becauz you know they gotta love the over...& then play the best possible number on the under at the last minute? Of couse if it is anything like the NFL ALL STAR game I will be in big trouble!!!

Yes! I already went in on Over 252.5. The reason is that for the last few NBA All Star games, there is absolutely no defense played. If you watched the Rookie/Sophomore game, the same thing occured. The players let each other run and dunk without defending. This wasn't the case a few years ago. Without any kind of defense and few fouls called, there is nothing to stop the scoring. Had I considered anything else, it would have been to try and middle the total as it opened at 251 and could go to any number. Good luck with whatever you decide to do today.

oldman - if u think pitt will only win by 4-6, why is it a 3 star play? thanks.

one other thing - a.i. says he wants to WIN. dont know if that means some defense will be played. prob not...

Even though the game should be tight, fully expect the emotional edge and home court to be the difference. I don't always look for a blow out to make a strong play. Often times it is a big game that I expect the very best effort and the situational circumstances favor a particular team. In this game, a 4-6 point win will be large. I am primarily comfortable with the fundamental player match-ups and the situation at hand.

Thank you for the kind words. Nice to know when I release a strong play that fellow posters have confidence in my analysis and selection. My pleasure to share, and glad that you were on the Panthers with me. Continued good luck to you in the future.
